STIFTELSEN SAEMIEN SIJTE

Saemien Sijte is Norway's only South Sami museum and cultural center, located in Snåsa, with national responsibility for documentation, preservation, research, and dissemination of South Sami culture across the entire South Sami region from Saltfjellet in the north to Engerdal in the south. The institution opened a new museum building in June 2022 and operates as both a museum and a cultural meeting place. It features a restaurant focused on Sami traditional food and local ingredients, a museum shop, and innovative exhibitions combining digital technology with cultural heritage.
